Former San Francisco Giants third base coach Tim Flannery is in the hospital due to a "stubborn staph infection," his family says.
Flannery has been in a San Diego hospital for over a week, the San Francisco Chronicle reported, as he battles the infection. He's currently on antibiotics and has undergone a number of tests to ensure the infection is no longer spreading.
"Blood cultures showed no new growth and the primary staph infection is responding to the antibiotics," reads an Oct. 26 update on the Facebook page for Flannery's band, Tim Flannery and Lunatic Fringe.
