SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Former Giants outfielder Angel Pagan, still jobless in the majors, will make his competitive debut this spring when he leads off and plays left field against the Giants on Wednesday for the Puerto Rican World Baseball Classic team.
Pagan said he is jobless by choice. He has received minor-league offers, but at 35, with 11 years in the majors, he is not interested in going that route.
"I've been offered some deals," he said as he sat from the visitors dugout at Scottsdale Stadium. "I just feel I don't need to be fighting for a job.
