SAN FRANCISCO -- Amid swirling trade speculation, Giants third baseman Eduardo Nunez has hit his stride, rattling off a stretch of crisp offensive production.
Thursday, he tallied two hits to bump his average to .300, up from .246 on May 12. Since returning from the disabled list (hamstring strain) on July 14, Nunez is 8-for-26 with two doubles. He'd love nothing more than to finish the season above .300.
"That's why we work so hard," Nunez said. "It's why we go to the cage every day. It's why we make adjustments to play this game at a high level.
