First SF Giants splash hit of the year caps off huge comeback win

The San Francisco Giants pulled off an incredible seven-run comeback against the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday, capping off the win with a walk-off splash hit into McCovey Cove.

Things weren’t quite as celebratory to start the game, as pitcher Justin Verlander gave up five earned runs in his 5 2/3 innings on the mound. The Giants were down as much as 6-1 heading into the bottom of the sixth. But the team roared back, scoring four in that frame and then another run in the eighth to send the game into extra innings tied at six runs apiece.
