Most of the chatter around the San Francisco Giants this week at the MLB Winter Meetings was focused on their pursuit (and successful landing) of big-name free agents. But when Giants shortstop prospect Will Wilson departed the organization on Wednesday, it made one of fired baseball executive Farhan Zaidi’s biggest mistakes from his time running the Giants look even worse.
Wilson was drafted in the first round of the MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Angels in 2019, but was sent to the Giants in a unique trade later that year.
