You may know Jack Taschner as a left-handed relief pitcher for the Giants a few years back. In Appleton, Wis., however, he’s known as the fun-loving police officer who pranked students at a recent high school football game.
The 39-year-old Taschner, a six-year Major League Baseball veteran who is now a school resource officer for the Appleton Police Department, is the star of a viral video that’s been viewed on Facebook nearly 3 1/2 million times.
Taschner, who pitched in 178 games in relief for the Giants from 2005-08 with middling success, schemed a way to lead Appleton East students in their “drive the bus” cheer.
