Major League Baseball suspended spring training operations Friday, and presented all players with three options:
1. Stay at their team's spring training complex
2. Return to their team's home city
3. Return to their city of residence
NBC Sports Bay Area's Alex Pavlovic reported Friday that players preferred to stay in Scottsdale, Arizona, and veteran third baseman Evan Longoria confirmed that sentiment on Twitter a few hours later.
On Thursday, MLB announced that the rest of spring training was canceled and the start of the 2020 regular season has been delayed at least two weeks due to the global coronavirus pandemic.
