The buzz from Saturday night’s Game 2 of the National League Division Series at Wrigley Field:
•Lee Smith threw out the ceremonial first pitch. His played eight of his 18 seasons with the Cubs but is loyal to the Giants, his employers for 17 years. Smith, a Giants roving pitching instructor, was asked which team he was pulling for, and he said, “Who you think I’m pulling for. The team with the name at the top of my check.”
•Smith pitched for eight teams but never the Giants. Still, he told a reporter, “If you didn’t have that video thing, I’d still tell you, ‘Hey, I’m a Giant.
