New Nationals manager Dusty Baker caused some controversy on Tuesday at the Winter Meetings with his comments about his former player, Aroldis Chapman, and his recent domestic violence allegations.
Baker said, among other things, that he didn't believe the report. He also said this:
"I think this policy needs to go further than the player. I think the policy should go to whoever's involved. Sometimes abusers don't always have pants on."
When asked what he wanted from the Nationals front office, Baker said:
"You're always in need of left-handed pitching, left-handed hitting, and in need of speed.
