Don’t waste your pity on Dusty Baker. He’s doing well.
Mostly.
Baker, who returned to the Giants this spring as a special adviser to CEO Larry Baer and executive vice president Brian Sabean, recently sat down for a lengthy interview with another baseball war horse (media division) Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
Suffice to say Baker has plenty of irons in plenty of fires. He’s currently following his son Darren who is playing in the Cape Cod League this summer. He’s visiting Giants’ minor league teams. He told Rosenthal that he is a winemaker (Baker Family Wines), owns a growing solar-energy business (Baker Energy Team), has a condo in San Francisco, would like to “have a place” in Vancouver, and owns land in Hawaii.
