SAN FRANCISCO–Madison Bumgarner said after Tuesday’s win over the Diamondbacks that he didn’t care if rookie Steven Duggar ever got a hit.
That’s how valuable Duggar is roaming center field.
Now, Duggar’s impressive rookie season has taken a hit as the Giants announced Wednesday he’s been placed on the 10-day disabled list with a bruised left shoulder.
The Giants are awaiting results from an MRI, but manager Bruce Bochy said the injury could potentially end Duggar’s season. The club expects to know more before Wednesday’s game against the D’backs, but the Giants have not ruled out the possibility of season-ending surgery.
