Oh, and the Giants called up Drew Stubbs, too.
On a day in which Madison Bumgarner spoke publicly for the first time since his dirt bike accident and Christian Arroyo made his major-league debut, the Giants made an under-the-radar move by promoting Stubbs from Triple-A Sacramento.
“Good, gifted outfielder who can play anywhere in the outfield,” manager Bruce Bochy said. “We signed him not to play in Sacramento. We needed him to come up here and help us, and we feel we need help right now.”
Stubbs, 32 was released by the Twins in spring training and signed by the Giants on April 6.
