Spring Training is about to get underway in Arizona and Florida, so it's strange that 26-year-old Bryce Harper – one of baseball's best players and arguably the sports' most marketable star – is unsigned.
Despite not being an initial suitor, it's evident that the San Francisco Giants agree with that sentiment. With the market for Harper stagnant, the Giants reportedly recently met with the ex-Nationals outfielder.
It's not clear if the Giants' interest in Harper is genuine or merely just speculative kicking of the tires. But they met, and that qualifies as big news this baseball offseason.
