The Giants managed to split a series in which they allowed the opposing team to score 27 runs. That’s not a great formula for success, but with the way things have been going this last week, I’ll take it.
The Giants almost wasted another great outing from Dereck Rodríguez. After Rodríguez threw seven innings of one-run baseball, the normally excellent Reyes Moronta and Tony Watson combined to give up two runs after a leadoff walk and a double off the wall. Miraculously, the Giants had scored more than three runs, so they still had the lead.
