The Diamondbacks on Thursday made a roster move, optioning right-handed pitcher Shelby Miller to Triple-A Reno.
The team announced Miller will play for the Aces, while a corresponding move will be made Friday.
Miller, 25, is 2-9 through 14 games with a 7.14 ERA. He's also allowed 13 home runs through the unofficial midway point, putting him on pace for a career-high.
Miller in 2015 was named an All-Star with the Atlanta Braves.
