SAN FRANCISCO -- Any time the power-challenged Giants hit home runs, it's cause for celebration among their fans. But when Pablo Sandoval gets a hold of one, it's especially meaningful.
The hugely popular Sandoval, who's still a link to the club's World Series-winning ways earlier this decade, gave the crowd one of its biggest thrills on Wednesday night with a fifth-inning homer off Mariners ace Felix Hernandez.
Sandoval's three-run blow widened the Giants' lead and was the first half of a back-to-back slugging act as Brandon Crawford's blast cleared the right-field wall.
