The Giants’ 76th loss of the season should not be remembered by anyone who watched it. That doesn’t make it the worst game the Giants have played in the past 19 years or anything quite so dramatic, but it was inert.
The Pirates jam shot and doubled the Giants to death and the Giants, to their credit, never seemed to mind the slow demise. They committed a couple of throwing errors and Logan Webb twice threw a wild pitch, meaning that four times in the game did they allow a base runner to advance through the mere act of handling the baseball.
