LATEST July 25, 4:15 p.m. Nick Ahmed, the shortstop the San Francisco Giants released just over two weeks ago, may very well have ended the Giants’ season as a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Ahmed signed with the Dodgers on Wednesday, and on Thursday, he sent a dagger through Giants fans’ hearts. The shortstop came to bat with the game tied 4-4 in the eighth inning of a must-win game for the Giants. After working the count to 2-2, Ahmed took former teammate Tyler Rogers deep to left center field to give the Dodgers the lead.
