Conor Gillaspie's hit in bottom of ninth leads Giants past Phillies 8-7

SAN FRANCISCO -- Conor Gillaspie lined a run-scoring single with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning Sunday to give the Giants an 8-7 win over the Philadelphia Phillies before a crowd of 41,479.

Gillaspie's hit off losing pitcher Severino Gonzalez scored Ramiro Pena, who hit a fly ball double down the right field line just beyond the reach of outfielder Peter Bourjos. The win gave manager Bruce Bochy his 800th win as Giants manager, and came on a day in which pitcher Johnny Cueto at one point held a 5-1 lead. Still, the Giants had to come from behind to beat a team that came to AT&T Park having lost nine of 10 games.
