The San Francisco Giants beat the San Diego Padres tonight, 3-1.
With the team in somewhat of a free fall lately, they needed someone to step up and today that someone was Carlos Rodón, who channeled the spirit of Tim Lincecum with his dominant complete game performance.
Rodón threw 112 pitches over nine innings, allowing just one run on three hits, with 12 strikeouts and two walks to lead the Giants to a much-needed victory. It was his fourth double-digit strikeout game of the season, with three of those coming in a hat trick against Manny Machado, who was 0-for-4 on the day.
