A day after getting drilled just above his left elbow by pitcher Michael Wacha, Buster Posey is out of Saturday’s lineup. He was wearing a sleeve before the game and said he’s “a little sore but not too bad.” He also took several “dirt balls,” as manager Bruce Bochy called them, off his body while catching.
Posey expects to be in Sunday’s lineup, and Bochy said it should be a one-day absence. He could be available off the bench Saturday. As of a couple of hours before the game, he hadn’t tried swinging a bat but said he didn’t have trouble swinging Friday after getting plunked.
