SAN FRANCISCO -- The sun hadn't set. But a star came out.
Madison Bumgarner burned as brightly on the mound Sunday afternoon as he ever has in the Giants' 4-0 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks. He will not pitch at the All-Star game in San Diego on Tuesday. But why make a cameo in an exhibition when you can stage a one-man show?Bumgarner took a no-hitter into the eighth inning, matched his career high with 14 strikeouts and completely overpowered the Diamondbacks. His fourth career one-hitter lifted the Giants to a major league-best 57th win.Bumgarner will attend the All-Star festivities but will be ineligible to participate because he started on Sunday.
