After mowing down the first 12 D-backs in order, Giants ace Madison Bumgarner homered off Zack Greinke to give the Giants a 2-0 lead in the fifth inning at Chase Field.
Bumgarner, who sent the 91.7-mph fastball over the left-field wall for a solo shot, entered the game with 14 career dingers in 453 at-bats.
The 112.5-mph exit velocity marks the hardest-hit long ball by a pitcher in the Statcast™ era. Bumgarner also owns the other two top-velocity smashes.
