Bruce Bochy had none of what Cubs manager Joe Maddon was dishing on catcher collisions.
The Giants manager dismissed Maddon’s comments about a recent, controversial slide by Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo and the origin of the rule preventing runners from crashing into catchers.
In particular, Bochy rejected Maddon’s hot take on how Major League Baseball created the rule because of Buster Posey’s stardom at the time of his 2011 injury due to a collision.
“I don’t really care to visit it. I don’t,” Bochy said. “Anybody who goes into that, they don’t know what they’re talking about where Buster was at on that play.
