Brown survives scare, Susac returns to field

SCOTTSDALE -- Asked how his wrist was feeling a day after getting nicked by a backswing, Trevor Brown responded by taking out his cell phone. He had taken a photo Monday of a left arm that was badly bruised and swollen. A day later, you could hardly tell Brown had gotten hurt.

The young catcher was feeling strong enough Tuesday that he took BP on the field and swings in the cage. Brown wasn't ready to play in a split-squad doubleheader, but he should return in a day or two. "I'm feeling pretty good," he said.

Brown's competition for the backup spot, Andrew Susac, is also making strides.
