Brandon Crawford has a nice little first-person account of his career so far in The Players Tribune today, but it's his story about teammate Madison Bumgarner that's truly jaw-dropping.
Crawford tells the tale of how he and MadBum ended up at an Applebee's in 2009 when they were playing for a Double A team in Connecticut. Young and hungry, Crawford, Bumgarner and pitcher Tim Alderson decided to hit up an Applebee's while on the road in New Hampshire.
The Applebee's was doing a 2-for-$20 deal: two entrees, one appetizer and one dessert. Crawford and Alderson split one deal.
