As the Giants honored Peter Magowan during their home opener Friday, no one at Oracle Park was more thankful for what their late owner did for the franchise than Brandon Crawford.
By spearheading an ownership group that bought the team from Bob Lurie and prevented the Giants from moving to Tampa in 1992, Magowan also helped mend a 5-year-old boy from Pleasanton’s broken heart.
