SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.–With the franchise’s investors in town for the weekend, a Giants’ split-squad team put on a show to be proud of Saturday.
After falling behind 5-2 in the third inning, the Giants rallied late and scored five runs in the eighth inning to cap off an 11-7 win over the Angels.
Manager Bruce Bochy was pleased with the play of several players up from Minor League camp who helped contribute to the comeback win, but he knows there’s more to be concerned about than the outcome of a Cactus League game.
Following the win, Bochy provided updates on the status of third baseman Evan Longoria and closer Mark Melancon, who are both dealing with different kinds of discomfort.
