Big spending is the cure for this lethally boring SF Giants roster

If the 2022 San Francisco Giants season had a cause of death, it would probably be bludgeoning. Bludgeoning from extreme boredom.

The Giants’ steaming pile of a season mercifully came to an end Wednesday, with the orange and black finishing with a .500 record for, somehow, the first time in their nearly 140-year history. It was a season marked with dull, uninspired play from a team that never could establish an identity.

Nearly everything that went right last year — and a lot went right last year — completely went to hell in 2022. The bullpen that locked down so many wins looked hapless most of the time.
