Trevor Brown, like most young baseball players, always dreamed of taking the field for a major-league game. Friday night, the dream had a different flavor.
Brown found out he would make his major-league debut for the Giants on Saturday against the Diamondbacks, starting at catcher. So, this time, the dream occurred while he was wide awake.
“I was lying in bed thinking about it, getting ready to go,” Brown said. “I just kind of thought about the first time running out there, getting behind the plate, looking out and seeing all the fans, just kind of soaking it all in.
