Buster Posey was named to his fourth All-Star team and voted into the starting lineup by fans for a second time.
Johnny Cueto hopes to pitch to his Giants teammate.
“Yeah. He’s my favorite catcher,” Cueto said with a smile. “I wouldn’t need to teach my tricks to another catcher.”
A Cueto-Posey battery would be a certainty if National League manager Terry Collins chooses Cueto to start the game, but that decision won’t be announced until Monday, a day before the All-Star Game at San Diego’s Petco Park.
The Giants will be represented with at least three All-Stars: Cueto, Posey and Madison Bumgarner, who’ll be ineligible to appear in the game if he stays on target and pitches Sunday.
