Trevor Bauer is one of the hardest pitchers in baseball to get a hit against and the Giants found that out tonight, managing a total of two. They made Bauer work hard and forced him to throw 126 pitches in his 6-1/3 innings but could only get the one run. Two walks in the 7th and an a throwing error from Bauer himself let the run in and got him out of the game, but that was it. Alex Wood pitched well despite giving up eight hits in his six frames. A two-run homer from Chris Taylor in the 3rd was his undoing.
