Fifteen years after being a guitar-playing pitcher with the A’s, Barry Zito is now a former pitcher-turned-guitar player.
The former A’s and Giants lefty released his debut EP — “No Secrets” — on Friday.
“They’re definitely personal songs,” Zito told Ann Killion of the San Francisco Chronicle. “I’m realizing I have a lot to say.”
Zito picked up the guitar to relax on road trips with the A’s in the early 2000s and continued the hobby while with the Giants. Since being released from the Nashville Sounds in 2015, Zito has reportedly lived in Nashville and worked on his music.
