Barry Zito joined an exclusive club of just one this week by becoming the first Cy Young winner to make the Billboard charts.
His debut album, No Secrets EP, sold 1,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen Music. That ranks it No. 15 on Americana/Folk Album Sales, No. 18 on Heatseekers Albums and No. 39 on Country Album Sales.
Zito is among a small list of former Major Leaguers to hit the Billboard Charts, along with Bernie Williams and Bronson Arroyo.
He played the Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley last week and told Billboard he enjoys putting on a concert.
