Maybe the ERA will go the way of the dodo someday, just like pitcher wins.
Matt Moore and rookie Daniel Gossett, who faced one another in the third game of the Bay Bridge series Wednesday night, both carried 5.74 ERAs to the hill. They could not have looked more different in the A’s 6-1 victory at AT&T Park.
Moore allowed four runs in five innings, including a two-run homer by Ryon Healy. Gossett made his 10th big-league start his best, holding the Giants to three hits and a run in seven innings.
Gossett won for the second time in three starts.
