OAKLAND -- The A's played to three standing-room-only crowds of 36,067 this weekend against the Giants but lost two of the three, including Sunday's 5-4 decision.
That performance sums up the A's home season rather well. Oakland, which goes to Anaheim and Seattle for its final six games, finished 34-47, the second-worst Coliseum record in Oakland history. Only the 31-50 team of 1979 did worse."This series, we wanted to win it for the fans as much as anything," right fielder Josh Reddick said. "It could have been kind of a highlight for our season, which hasn't been the best or what we wanted.
