SAN FRANCISCO -- Giants left fielder Nori Aoki was activated from the disabled list and infielder Joaquin Arias was designated for assignment in a corresponding move Monday.
Aoki returned from Triple-A Sacramento, where he went 3-for-13 in four rehab games with the River Cats. He missed 28 games with a fractured right fibula.
Aoki, the Giants' primary leadoff hitter, rejoined the lineup Monday night batting in the eighth spot for the first time this season.
"We're doing pretty good right now," manager Bruce Bochy said. "I don't want to break up what's going on with the batting order.
