Ali wowed Giants during Spring Training visit

ST. LOUIS -- Mostly, clubhouse visitors come and go. However, the morning when Muhammad Ali stopped by before a Giants' Spring Training workout at Scottsdale Stadium remains lodged in the memories of those who saw him.

Ali, the three-time heavyweight boxing champion and cultural icon who die Friday at age 74, dropped in before a Giants workout in March 2010. He promoted Athletes for Hope, an organization created to educate athletes about the importance of community and connect them to the charity of their choice.

Witnesses said that Ali, mostly silenced by Parkinson's disease, didn't speak during the 40-minute presentation.
