The Giants welcome the Colorado Rockies to Oracle Park tonight as they begin a four game series against their fourth place division rivals.
Taking the mound for the Rockies is Germán Márquez, who enters tonight’s game with a 3.42 ERA, 3.30 FIP, with 141 strikeouts to 49 walks in 136 innings pitched. His last start was against the Marlins, where he went six innings, allowing only two hits and zero runs, striking out seven.
The Giants have seen a fair amount of Márquez and hit fairly well against him. Brandon Belt has a .429 average against him in 28 at bats, with a home run and seven RBI, so he’ll be batting clean-up today.
