The Major League Baseball season has always been a grind and that’s the beauty of the 162-game schedule. It acts as a crucible and at the end we are left with what’s supposed to be the best teams of that season. The San Francisco Giants are one of the best teams in the sport right now, but with so many games left to play and with a grueling schedule in their direct path, that label is about to be challenged.
Thanks to some modifications in the Collective Bargaining Agreement, teams enjoy a few more off days during the season than they used to and so that’s meant far fewer instances in a season where they’re thrown into meat grinder, but for the first time since 2022, the Giants find themselves in a stretch of 17 games in 17 days.
