CHICAGO — Thirteen years later, here’s how Joe Nathan evaluates the Giants’ regrettable trade that sent him to the Twins:
“Things worked out for me going there. Things worked out for the Giants, obviously, with the rings they brought home to San Francisco.”
A.J. Pierzynski didn’t get one of those rings, of course. The catcher was the centerpiece of the November 2003 deal that sent Nathan, Francisco Liriano and Boof Bonser to Minnesota for Pierzynski, who had a rough season with the Giants before joining the White Sox in 2005, when they won World Series.
