The San Francisco Giants are still looking to add starting pitching by the trade deadline, but they’re only looking at "top-of-the-rotation arms to pair with Madison Bumgarner in a playoff rotation", according to ESPN's Jayson Stark.
San Francisco's top targets are David Price and Cole Hamels, but they have run into problems on both fronts - they’re not considered a favorite to land Hamels (and there are questions if they have the ability to meet Philadelphia's asking price), and the Tigers have yet to make Price definitely available.
Stark reported that the Dodgers and Rangers have emerged as the favorites to land Hamels yesterday, and the Cubs are also heavily pursuing both available aces.
