The San Francisco Giants have struggled mightily over the past week, losing six of their last seven games. As they look to rebound over the rest of the week during a 10-game homestand, there are news and rumors brewing on the team's former ace Tim Lincecum and current closer Santiago Casilla.
Read on to find out the latest on those Giants developments and more.
Lincecum Throwing On Giants' Practice Field
Giants two-time Cy Young Award winner Tim Lincecum was spotted throwing at the team's practice fields in Arizona, reports CBS Sports' Jon Heyman:
Lincecum intrigue: Tim was spotted throwing on #SFGiants fields in Ariz (and a few other places). Showcase expected soon.

This wasn't the showcase that has been rumored since the offseason. Still, it bears mentioning that the Giants have not ruled out adding Lincecum as a reliever.
Bruce Bochy Backs Closer Santiago Casilla
The Giants' longtime closer has blown two saves over the past week, but his role is secure, according to Bruce Bochy. One of them was due to a Kelby Tomlinson error, and in the other, Casilla was only one strike away from closing the door before he hung a pitch to Arizona's Jake Lamb. With Sergio Romo out and Hunter Strickland struggling, Casilla should be the team's closer for the foreseeable future.
Chris Heston Highlights Roster Moves
The Giants have swapped George Kontos (strained right flexor) and former rookie sensation Chris Heston for right-hander Mike Broadway and left-hander Steven Okert. Heston has struggled in long relief this season with a 10.80 ERA, but should be back up with the team this season if he can regain his form with the Sacramento Rivercats.
