Tim Hudson, Michael Morse have championship envy in today's Giants news

In today's Giants news update, offseason additions Tim Hudson and Michael Morse are happy to be San Francisco Giants - even if they're reminded every day of what they haven't been able to do in their careers elsewhere.

Per Bob Nightengale of USA Today, "veteran pitcher Tim Hudson still can't believe he never won a title with all of that talent a decade ago in Oakland. And any thoughts of winning a ring in Atlanta quickly vanished when the Braves barely showed interest when he became a free agent."

Hudson has a very matter-of-fact way of looking at the end of his time in Atlanta.

"It was made pretty clear to me the Braves didn't want me back,'' the 38-year-old ace stated, adding that the Braves' offer was even too low to try and counter.

Michael Morse thought his best opportunity was with the 2012 Washington Nationals. However, the team shut down Stephen Strasburg before the playoffs as the Nationals fizzled out in the first round - a loss which still bothers Morse and several of his former teammates.

"A lot of people don't realize you might only get one shot,'' Morse states in Nightengale's article. "One shot. That could have been the only shot. I just wish we could have given it everything we had, but we didn't.''

Now, playing for the team with the best record in baseball, Hudson and Morse may find their shot at redemption.
