While Santiago Casilla will break camp as the SF Giants' closer, former Giants closer Sergio Romo could also get a look in the ninth inning after posting a sterling 2.16 ERA during Spring Training.
"We'll use both of them," manager Bruce Bochy said, via MLB.com. "They're both, in our mind, closers. Casilla, you don't want to get caught up too much in numbers in the spring, but he is throwing the ball well. I think Casilla's stuff has been really good, he's just making mistakes here or there. We did it last year, we can do it again. They're fine with it."
However, Bochy made it clear that Casilla is the main attraction at the back of the bullpen heading towards Opening Day.
"Casilla is closing. I don't want this to be misconstrued," Bochy said. "But we've got a guy that's got a lot of experience closing that can help out there."
