San Francisco Giants infielder Marco Scutaro appeared in just five games for the team during the 2014 MLB season due to problems stemming from a chronic back ailment.
While the team is hoping for Scutaro to be recovered and ready to go in 2015, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle believes that a scheduled update by the training staff on Scutaro could bring with it some bad news:
"It might not be a good sign that the training staff is preparing to announce an update in the next couple of days on Marco Scutaro," Shea wrote in an article posted on Sunday, inferring that the 37-year-old might still be troubled by the back problems that cost him the majority of last season.
Scutaro is due $6 million in the final year of his contract with the Giants, so expect both Marco and the training staff to exhaust every possible option to get him back on the field, albeit safely.
