The San Francisco Giants have been competing for first place in the NL West all season, but with just days until the trade deadline, they are still looking for that missing piece to help them make the postseason. Here are two trades they could make at the deadline:
Trade Kyle Crick, Adam Duvall, and Keury Mella to Tigers for David Price
San Francisco has thrown their name into the race for David Price as they look to upgrade their rotation, hoping to add another ace to their staff. Unfortunately for the Giants, they don't have the kind of depth necessary to make a move like this without giving up some of their top prospects.
This move would be risky since Price will be a free agent after the season, but if get some sort of guarantee from Price that he'll re-sign with them after the season, they'd pull the trigger in a heartbeat.
Trade Kyle Crick, Cristian Arroyo to A's for Ben Zobrist
The Giants' lack of depth also has them targeting Oakland's Ben Zobrist, who is a big bat that can play virtually anywhere in the infield and outfield. San Francisco has been targeting Zobrist since the offseason, and with Oakland looking to sell and GM Billy Beane's affinity for young, cheap, talented prospects, the Giants may be able to get a deal done with the A's fairly easily.
