SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference officially announced on Monday afternoon that Kate Zimmerman, a freshman midfielder for San Francisco, has been named Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 16.
Shining in her first start as a Don, Kate Zimmerman powered San Francisco to a 2-1 comeback victory over San José State on Thursday, Sept. 19 as the freshman scored her first two collegiate goals in the win.
After USF trailed 1-0 at halftime, the freshman came out firing in the second half as she danced through the Spartan defense before rocketing her first goal past the opposing keeper at 53:17.
