SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Four-time NBA champion and Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry is giving back to his Bay Area community and the University of San Francisco with a $100,000 donation to the university's Institute of Nonviolence and Social Justice (INSJ) late last month.
Curry is the third ever recipient of the NBA's Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Social Justice Championship Award for his tireless work within his community. He was picked from a group of five finalists for his dedication to pursuing social justice and advancing Abdul-Jabbar's life mission to engage, empower, and drive equality for individuals and groups who have been historically marginalized or systemically disadvantaged.
