SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Returning home following their one-game road trip to San Jose, the USF Dons baseball team (6-4) got back to their winning ways as they defeated the St. John's Red Storm on Thursday afternoon 6-3 at Benedetti Diamond. Nick Yovetich launched two balls over the wall in right, including a clutch go-ahead grand slam with two outs in the bottom of the fifth to give USF a lead they wouldn't relinquish.
Left-hander Lance Santerre got his first start of the season gutting through five tough innings allowing three earned runs while striking out four Red Storm hitters and walking one.
